Eagles fall to Vestavia Hills in tennis opener

The Oak Mountain High School girls’ tennis team fell to Vestavia Hills 9-0 in its season-opening match Feb. 7.

Mary Coleman Allen of Vestavia Hills defeated Jessica Amaro of Oak Mountain 10-2 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Avery King of Vestavia Hills topped Samantha Frederick of Oak Mountain 10-0 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Emily Crawford of Vestavia Hills defeated Mary Catherine Touliatos of Oak Mountain 10-0 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Hannah Shunnarah of Vestavia Hills defeated Anna Catherine Manning of Oak Mountain 10-2 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Hallie Nelson of Vestavia Hills defeated Laurel Reeves of Oak Mountain 10-1 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Katherine Shunnarah of Vestavia Hills topped Ana Ospina of Oak Mountain 10-1 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

King and Crawford defeated Amaro and Frederick 10-7 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Allen and Hannah Shunnarah defeated Touliatos and Manning 10-0 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Hallie Nelson and Hannah Nelson of Vestavia Hills defeated Reeves and Ospina 10-1 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.

Kyle Ehlers of Oak Mountain fell to John Morson of Vestavia Hills 10-8 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Kody Ehlers of Oak Mountain fell to Caleb Cantrell of Vestavia Hills 10-3 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Brian Deason of Oak Mountain fell to Paul Taylor of Vestavia Hills 10-2 in the No. 5 singles’ match. J.K. Keasler of Oak Mountain fell to Jake Patton of Vestavia Hills 10-1 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Touliatos and Dodson fell to Holcombe and Patton 10-2 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Kyle Ehlers and Kody Ehlers fell to Richard and Morson 10-3 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Keasler and Deason fell to Taylor and Cantrell 10-1 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
