Betty Ruth Murphy Wakefield, age 77, a resident of Calera, died on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at Bolton Funeral Home with Rev. Archie Maddox and Bro. Neal Bearden officiating. Burial will follow at Summer Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home. She was a longtime member of Summer Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wakefield is preceded in death by her husband, TJ Wakefield; parents, Samuel Kermit and Mary Elizabeth Murphy; and a brother, Pete Murphy. She is survived by her children, Mike Wakefield (Christine), Cathy Walton (Frank), Rosa McMaster, Paula Barker (Billy), Clayton D. Wakefield, Mia Horton (Paul), Suzette Wakefield, Shelia Allen (Pete), Tim Wakefield (Andrea), Stephanie McNeal (Paul) and Valerie Lemley (Clay); 28 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren that will be arriving soon; sister-in-law, Earnestine Murphy; special friend, Glennie Brasher; and other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
