The Calera High School girls’ basketball team defeated Tarrant 37-33 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A, Area 8 semifinal contest Feb. 9.

The Eagles advanced to meet host Midfield in the Class 4A, Area 8 tournament championship game Feb. 11 at 2 p.m.

A’Kia Harris led Calera (11-12) with 12 points in the victory. Harris also grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Perri Duncan added 10 points in the win. Jocelyn Davis chipped in six points in the win.
