The Calera High School girls’ basketball team fell to Midfield 51-38 in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A, Area 8 tournament championship game Feb. 11.

A’Kia Harris led the Eagles (11-13) with 18 points in the title game.

Kayla Brown added six points. Tia McCarter chipped in five points in the championship game.

Calera will face Sumter Central in an AHSAA Class 5A sub-region game Feb. 16 at 7 p.m., with the winner advancing to the Central Region tournament on the Alabama State University campus in Montgomery.
