The Briarwood Christian School boys’ soccer team edged Oak Mountain 2-1 in its season-opening match Feb. 14.

Kyle Kimel led the Lions (1-0) with two goals in the victory.

Grant Janich finished with one assist in the win. Briarwood Christian goalkeeper Jordan Box recorded 10 saves.

Chad Carpenter scored the lone goal for the Eagles, who fell to 0-1. Oak Mountain goalkeeper Brad Lewis finished with seven saves.
