Eagles win two matches in Lakeshore Shootout

The Oak Mountain High School boys’ soccer team won both of its opening round matches in the Lakeshore Shootout soccer tournament Feb. 17.

The Eagles (2-1) defeated Randolph 1-0 in its first match in the tournament.

Brandt Mace scored the lone goal for Oak Mountain in the fifth minute of the match.

The Eagles defeated Hoover 1-0 in its second match in the tournament. Chandler Stroupe accounted for the lone goal in the victory over the Bucs.

Spain Park defeated Demopolis and finished in a scoreless tie in its opening matches in the tournament.

The Jaguars topped Demopolis 4-0 in their opening match.

Tyler Cook, Michael Harrison, Carter Tilashalski and Dylan Williams scored one goal each in the victory for Spain Park, which improved to 2-0-1 overall.

Spencer Jack finished with one save in the shutout.

Jack and Devin Carter combined for the shutout in a 0-0 scoreless tie with Prattville in the tournament.

Jack registered six saves, while Carter finished with one save in the match.

Thompson dropped a match with John Carroll Catholic 2-1 on the first day of the tournament.

Jacob Ramsey scored the lone goal for the Warriors. Thompson goalkeeper Sam Posey finished with seven saves in the match.
