Katherine Brasher, age 89, of Calera passed away Feb. 10, 2012. She was born March 28, 1922 to the late Marvin E. and Arizona Ellison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam F. Brasher; her parents; and 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons, Frank Brasher (Jan) and George Brasher (Doris); three daughters, Virginia Ray (Hubert), Mary Spain (Bobby) and Peggy Hay (Johnny); her only remaining sister, Alice Sowers (Roy) of Biloxi, Miss.; her 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 at Charter Funeral Home in Calera from 6-8 p.m. Katherine’s funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 13, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with interment at Old Rock Springs Cemetery.
