Oak Mountain wins two matches in Southern Shootout

The Oak Mountain High School girls’ soccer team won its first two matches in the Southern Shootout soccer tournament Feb. 17 in Mobile.

The Eagles defeated Bayside Academy 9-0 in their opening match.

Toni Payne led Oak Mountain (4-0) with four goals in the victory. Payne also finished with two assists.

Haley Gerken added three goals. Bailee Harnett, who finished with one assist, and Emma Roberson chipped in one goal each.

Greer Maddox, Julianne Jackson and Katie Roberts finished with one assist each.

Oak Mountain topped Daphne 10-0 in its second match in the tournament.

Payne led the Eagles with five goals in the victory. Payne also recorded an assist in the win.

Harnett added four goals and two assists. Roberson contributed one goal and a team-high three assists.

Gerken finished with two assists.
