The Briarwood Christian School softball team fell to Mountain Brook 10-3 in its season-opening game Feb. 21.

Morgan Reed led the Lions (0-1) at the plate as she went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Reed drove in three runs with an inside-the-park homerun in the top of the fifth inning.

Natalie Kidd finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double. Deora Simon also went 1-for-3.

Reed took the loss in the circle after giving up eight runs on six hits with four strikeouts and a walk in four innings. Linley Splawn allowed two runs on three hits with a strikeout and two walks in two innings in relief.
