Lions top West Point in tournament

The Briarwood Christian School baseball team defeated West Point 5-1 in the Jay D. Kynerd Memorial baseball tournament Feb. 21.

Cole Pearson led the Lions (1-1) at the plate as he finished 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Ben Craft went 1-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored. Matthew Furuto finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and drove in two runs.

Ethan Simmons finished 1-for-2 at the plate and scored a run. Sam Morris went 1-for-1 at the plate. Tanner Cunningham and Brayden Housel scored one run each in the win.

Will Brown earned the win on the mound after giving up one unearned run on two hits with 11 strikeouts in a complete-game victory.
