Jimmy Ray Jenkins, age 74, of Montevallo passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at his home. He attended Westwood Baptist Church. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Effie Jenkins; brothers, J.W. Jenkins, Hershel Jenkins, Herman Jenkins Jr. and Douglas Jenkins; sister, Gladys Owens; and daughter-in-law, Tina Jenkins. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Oglesby Jenkins; children, Karen and Tommy Birkenfeld of Alabaster, Scott Jenkins of Calera and Frankie and Kevin Grice of Maylene; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Juanita Jenkins of Jemison; sister-in-law, Florence Jenkins of Helena; grandchildren, Tyler Birkenfeld, Molly Grice, Wes Jenkins and Mae Jenkins; and aunt, Winona Stark.

Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Les Hughes and Rev. Bob Mahaffey officiating. Interment will follow at Ryan’s Cemetery in Maylene.
