Oak Mountain wins Lakeshore Shootout

The Oak Mountain High School girls’ soccer team won all five matches on its way to the Lakeshore Shootout tournament championship Feb. 24-25.

Haley Gerken of Oak Mountain was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Toni Payne was named the offensive MVP.

Oak Mountain defeated Southside Gadsden 10-0.

Gerken led the Eagles with two goals.

Bailee Harnett added one goal and three assists. Julianne Jackson finished with two goals and one assist. Greer Maddox and Payne added one goal and one assist each.

Emma Roberson scored two goals. Cameron Morris finished with one goal. Megan Sweatt recorded one assist.

The Eagles defeated Enterprise 6-0.

Payne led Oak Mountain with three goals. Vicki Hill added two goals. Harnett added one goal and one assist.

Gerken and Madison Bingham recorded one assist each.

Oak Mountain defeated Vestavia Hills 3-0.

Payne, who had two assists, Hill and Harnett finished with one goal each in the victory.

The Eagles defeated Bob Jones 6-1 in the semifinals.

Gerken, who had one assist, and Hill, who recorded two assists, led Oak Mountain with two goals each.

Payne and Jackson added one goal each. Payne Robertson and Sydney Jeter added one assist each.

Oak Mountain defeated Spain Park 3-0 in the championship match.

Payne led the Eagles with two goals in the victory.

Gerken added one goal. Payne and Harnett finished with one assist each.
