Sharon Elaine Benson Joiner, age 66, died at home, on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 at Bolton Funeral Home with Rev. Roland Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home.

Sharon was born Jan. 27, 1946 in Leeds. She grew up and lived in Columbiana. Sharon was married to Gene Joiner for 48 years. They had five children together. She worked and retired after 30 years with Valley Mills.

Mrs. Joiner is preceded in death by father, Pete Benson; mother, Alene Blackmon; and brothers, Jerry Benson and Randy Benson. She is survived by her husband, Gene Joiner; son, Danny Joiner (Kim), and their children, Vince and Emily; daughter, Vanessa Hand (Scott) and her children, Blake and Benjamin; daughter, Genia Blackwell (Phillip) and their children, DaniKate, Brady and Andi Lynn; daughter, Stacey Oliver and her children, Jacob and Greg; son, Travis and his children, Dewey and Katie Grace; sisters, Patricia Benson, Cindy Prewitt and Samantha Blackmon; and she also leaves behind many family and friends who loved and cared for her dearly.
