Vera Louise Williams Nelson “Granmaw” Donna

Vera Louise Williams Nelson “Granmaw” Donna, age 84, of Montevallo entered into rest on Feb. 24, 2012. Granmaw has now joined her beloved dachshund companion, Rox.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Libby Williams of Autauga County; husbands, J.W. Nelson and Tony Donna; son, Wayne Nelson; and grandson, Darren Pate. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Pate (Jerry) and Gwen Cupp; son, Mark Nelson (Adele); grandchildren, Vince Pate (Christy), Ginger Burke (Danny), Jeremy Pate (Sarah), Brandy Lucas, Tessie Nelson White, Chris Nelson and Heath Nelson; great-grandchildren, Justin Pate, Krystle Burke, Madison Pate, Chani Doty and Carli White; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was a retiree of Clarke American in Birmingham and acted as manager of the Grady R. Parker Senior Center in Montevallo for several years.

Visitation will be held at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo, Monday evening, Feb. 27, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Rockco Funeral Home Chapel, with graveside services to follow at Montevallo Cemetery.
