Willie Daniel Horton, age 89, of Montevallo passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 in Clanton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Horton and Bertha Gay; son, Dannie Lee Horton; brothers, John Cecil (who served in Korea), and William Clay Horton; sister, Sarah Cathlyn Horton Davis; and other beloved Rasberry brothers and sisters.

Willie is survived by his wife, Ola Mae Hosmer Horton; son, John Daniel Horton; daughters, Margaret H. Murchison, Sarah H. Wilson and Joyce H. Broadhead; brothers, Billy Joe Rasberry and Bobby Frank Rasberry; sister, Betty Sue Evans; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Church in Jemison, Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Calvin Smitherman officiating. He will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Moore’s Cemetery.
