Knights defeat Sumiton Christian in tennis match

The Westminster School at Oak Mountain boys’ tennis team defeated Sumiton Christian 7-2 in high school tennis action Feb. 27.

The Knights won all six singles’ matches and one of three doubles’ matches against Sumiton Christian.

Mark McClure of Westminster defeated Austin Wouters of Sumiton Christian 8-3 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Will Robey of Westminster defeated Austin Fortner of Sumiton Christian 8-0 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Scott McClure of Westminster defeated J.D. Underwood of Sumiton Christian 8-2 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Wellford Moore of Westminster defeated Tyler Busby of Sumiton Christian 8-6 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Bobby Skelton of Westminster defeated Jamie Harbin of Sumiton Christian 8-2 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Robert Mann of Westminster defeated Tracey Busby of Sumiton Christian 8-4 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Robey and Skelton defeated Fortner and Harbin 8-3 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Mark and Scott McClure fell to Wouters and Underwood 8-3 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Mann and Drew Parker of Westminster fell to Busby and Hyatt 8-2 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
