The Pelham High School softball team edged Hueytown 1-0 in high school softball action Feb. 27.

Caitlin Sapp led the Panthers (8-0) at the plate as she went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run.

Whitney Gillespie finished 1-for-3 with a double. Madi Walker went 1-for-3 and drove in a run in the victory.

Gillespie also earned the win in the circle after giving up just two hits with five strikeouts and two walks in a complete-game victory.
