The Pelham High School boys’ soccer team shut out Bessemer City 9-0 in high school soccer action Feb. 28.

Andres Melendez led the Panthers (5-3) with three goals in the victory.

Miguel Quijada, Alexis Diaz, Ethan Savage, Cameron Foss, Troup Graham and Karsten Hicks added one goal each.

Pelham goalkeeper Moises Roman recorded his fourth shutout.

GIRLS

The Pelham High School girls’ soccer team shut out Bessemer City 10-0 in high school soccer action Feb. 28.

Natalia Alcaino, Natalie Delgadillo, Mara DeLuca, Ashley Gardner and Elizabeth Deyton scored two goals each for the Panthers, who improved to 4-1-2 overall.

DeLuca also finished with two assists. Deyton added one assist.
