Lions force tie with Hooper Academy in tournament

The Kingwood Christian School baseball team finished in a 6-6 tie with Hooper Academy in its opening game of the Prattville Christian tournament March 1.

Gavin Sumrall led the Lions at the plate as he went 1-for-2 and drove in two runs.

Andrew Whitfield, who drove in two runs and scored one run, finished 1-for-3 at the plate.

Tyler Harrell pitched a five-inning complete game and allowed two earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks.

Kingwood Christian fell to Eastwood Christian 3-2 in the nightcap.

Harrell led the Lions at the plate after finishing 1-for-3 and driving in two runs.

Sumrall finished 1-for-1 and scored a run. Whitfield went 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run.
