Bulldogs sweep doubleheader against St. Clair County

The Montevallo High School baseball team swept a doubleheader with St. Clair County in high school baseball action March 3.

The Bulldogs defeated St. Clair County 4-0 in the opener.

Chase Hamrick led Montevallo at the plate as he went 1-for-3 with a homer and scored a run.

Zach Smith finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and drove in a run. Trevor Chatham, who drove in one run and scored one run, went 1-for-3 with a double.

Hamrick earned the win on the mound after giving up just two hits with five strikeouts and two walks in a complete-game shutout.

Montevallo defeated St. Clair County 7-0 in the nightcap.

Hunter Nabors led the Bulldogs as he went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in a run.

Taylor Burr went 2-for-5 and drove in two runs. Jonathan Pintaro, who drove in one run and scored three runs, finished 1-for-2 at the plate.

Pintaro earned the win after giving up just one hit with five strikeouts and two walks in six scoreless innings. Burr struck out three batters in the final inning in relief.
