CALERA – The pastor of Calera Baptist Church was injured in a hit-and-run accident around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night.

After leaving church, Pastor Hal Warren was driving on Alabama 25 when a vehicle turned in front of him and struck his motorcycle. The driver sped away, according to Calera Police Chief Sean Lemley.

Youth Pastor Stephen Cannon said the vehicle hit Warren “really hard.”

“One of our church members saw it,” Cannon said. “He laid facedown for several minutes. He suffered from a broken wrist, broken ribs and a little bit of bleeding on the frontal lobe.”

Cannon said Warren is OK and alert and is “hopefully going to be back home tomorrow.”

According to Lemley, the investigation is on-going.
