The Thompson High School girls’ tennis team defeated Homewood 5-4 in high school tennis action March 5.

The Warriors won three singles’ matches and two doubles’ matches against Homewood.

Laura Harwell of Thompson fell to Sena Suswam of Homewood 8-1 in the No. 1 singles’ match. Erin Hutter of Thompson fell to Maggie Williams of Homewood 8-6 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Victoria Killingsworth of Thompson defeated Megan Spade of Homewood 8-6 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Maria Siow of Thompson fell to Beverly Vappie of Homewood 8-6 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Olivia Sorrell of Thompson defeated Sarah Fields of Homewood 8-4 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Anna Conn of Thompson defeated Sierra Booker of Homewood 8-1 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Hutter and Siow fell to Suswam and Spade 8-1 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Harwell and Killingsworth defeated Williams and Vappie 8-2 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Sorrell and Conn defeated Fields and Booker 8-3 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.

Tyler Shaw of Thompson fell to Charles Carter of Homewood 8- in the No. 1 singles’ match. Cameron Faulkner of Thompson defeated David Cox of Homewood 9-8 (7-4) in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Tony Pendleton of Thompson defeated J.R. Carter of Homewood 8-0 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Jared Cowsar of Thompson defeated Marcus Jones of Homewood 8-1 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Clay Anthony of Thompson defeated A. Ragsdale of Homewood 8-0 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Chris Thomas of Thompson fell to Alex Vice of Homewood 9-8 (7-5) in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Shaw and Faulkner fell to Christian Carter and Cox 8-6 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Pendletown and Cowsar defeated J.R. Carter and Jones 8-1 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.
