Oak Mountain defeats Gardendale

The Oak Mountain High School softball team defeated Gardendale 4-3 in extra innings in high school softball action March 6.

Jamie Langford drove in the winning runs in the top of the eighth inning with her two-run single.

Langford led the Eagles at the plate as she went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Maddie Ridgeway finished 2-for-5 at the plate. Caroline Seitz, who drove in one run and scored one run, went 1-for-4 at the plate with a double. Katherine Kimble finished 1-for-4 with a double and drove in a run.

Madeline Porter finished 1-for-2 and scored a run. Kailey Boone went 1-for-2 and scored two runs. Hannah Griffin finished 1-for-4 at the plate.

Anne Thomaston earned the win in relief after giving up just one unearned run on one hit with a strikeout and a walk in 2 1/3 innings in relief.

Kimble allowed two earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts and a walk in 5 2/3 innings.
