Eight players honored by AVCA

Eight high school volleyball standouts were recognized by the Alabama Volleyball Coaches Association following the release of its all-state team last month.

Pelham High School senior Sydney Days was named to the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A first team all-state squad. Teammate Dana Allen was selected Class 6A second team all-state.

Porsha Tolbert of Pelham was named a Class 6A honorable mention.

Briarwood Christian School senior Logan Nasworthy was named to the AHSAA Class 5A first team all-state squad. Teammates Adeline Reiser and Carly Cline were each selected Class 5A second team all-state.

Montevallo High School senior Mallory Anderson was named to the AHSAA Class 3A second team all-state squad. Teammate Kathryn Ray was named Class 3A honorable mention.
