Bulldogs sweep Greensboro in doubleheader

The Montevallo High School baseball team swept Greensboro in a doubleheader March 8 in high school baseball action.

The Bulldogs won the opening game 13-3.

David Shirah led Montevallo at the plate as he went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Shirah finished with one stolen base and drove in three runs in the victory.

Zack Sweat finished 2-for-2 at the plate and scored three runs. Chase Hamrick went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and two RBIs.

Hamrick earned the win on the mound after giving up three runs on two hits with nine strikeouts and two walks in four innings.

Montevallo defeated Greensboro 11-1 in the nightcap.

Taylor Burr led the Bulldogs at the plate as he went 2-for-3 with a triple. Burr, who finished with two stolen bases, drove in one run and scored three runs in the victory.

Shirah finished 2-for-2 at the plate with two stolen bases and two RBIs. Sweat went 1-for-2 at the plate. Trey Colley finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and drove in a run.

Jonathan Pintaro earned the win on the mound after giving up just one run on one hit with seven strikeouts and two walks in five innings.
