Lions top Sylacauga in tennis match

The Briarwood Christian School boys’ tennis team defeated Sylacauga 7-2 in high school tennis action March 14.

The Lions won four of six singles’ matches and all three doubles’ matches against Sylacauga.

Griffin Russell of Briarwood Christian defeated Nathanell Killough of Sylacauga 9-8 (7-5) in the No. 1 singles’ match. Russell Hancock of Briarwood Christian defeated Will Killough of Sylacauga 8-2 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Philip Taylor of Briarwood Christian fell to Collin Minor of Sylacauga 8-5 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Daniel Kuyk of Briarwood Christian fell to Cary Kimber of Sylacauga 8-6 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Lukas Castellanos of Briarwood Christian defeated Paul Morris of Sylacauga 8-2 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Connor Brewton of Briarwood Christian defeated Kody Woods of Sylacauga 8-6 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Russell and Hancock defeated Nathanell Killough and Will Killough 8-1 in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Taylor and Kuyk defeated Minor and Kimber 8-4 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

Castellanos and Brewton defeated Andrew Farr and Morris of Sylacauga 8-4 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
