Hornets top Dadeville in tournament

The Chelsea High School baseball team defeated Dadeville 8-6 in its final game in the Lake Martin Classic tournament March 24.

Keelan Gregg led the Hornets offensively as he went 2-for-4 at the plate and scored two runs.

Brody Holder, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 2-for-4 at the plate. Trip Hobbs went 2-for-4 at the plate and scored two runs. Davis Shoemaker also finished 2-for-4 at the plate.

Alex Dean, Landon Wiley and Matthew Graben added one hit each in the win.

Hobbs picked up his fifth win of the year after giving up six runs on nine hits with nine strikeouts and two walks in five innings.

Joey Mock didn’t give up a hit and recorded four strikeouts and one walk in two scoreless innings in relief.
