Man indicted on Pelham bank robbery charge

A federal grand jury today indicted a Mississippi man on one robbery charge after authorities alleged he robbed a Pelham bank in January at knifepoint.

The indictment, filed in U.S. District Court, charges David Alexander Kulinski, 53, of Marietta, Miss., with one count of  bank robbery.

According to the indictment, Kulinski allegedly walked into Cadence Bank on Huntley Parkway in Pelham on Jan. 14, handed a teller a note demanding money and threatened the teller with a knife.

The teller complied with the demand and handed Kulinski an undisclosed amount of money, according to court records. Kulinski ran from the bank and was apprehended by Pelham Police shortly after the robbery, according to the indictment.

The FBI and Pelham Police investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph P. Montminy is prosecuting the case.
