Herbert Bartow Evett, age 80, who passed away peacefully at his home in Westover, on March 28, 2012 was born March 30, 1931 in Huntsville on Davidson Street. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Bolton Funeral Home with Pastor Dr. B.R. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Harpersville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 31, 2012, from 9:30-11 a.m. at Bolton Funeral Home.

Mr. Evett attended Lincoln School until the ninth grade. He then went to work laying brick and became a highly skilled brick mason. He served in the U.S. Army in the United States and a tour overseas in Germany. He continued masonry work until 2007, when he retired and then immediately went to work for Wal-Mart. He continued to work for Wal-Mart until he became too ill to continue working.

Mr. Evett is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Dora Evelyn Evett; brother, Terry M. Evett (Ret. USAF); sisters, Martha Jo Bradford and Mary Odesta Honea (Polly). He is survived by his wife, Patricia Evett; son, Scott Reuter; brother, Alfred Evett (Ret, USAF) (Dorothy); sisters, Alma Ford (Jim), Deborah Creel (Allen) and Pamela Jackson (Danny); 13 nephews; 11 nieces; and numerous great nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
