NORTH SHELBY — The Oak Mountain High School Film Club will hold its first Recess Film Festival April 7.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. in the school’s Performing Arts Center. Tickets will be $1 at the door.

Film Club President Daniel Tuggle said the event will allow local aspiring filmmakers to showcase their work.

“It’s a great outlet for high schoolers to showcase their creativity,” he said. “There aren’t many film festivals held in Alabama, especially ones that cater to high school students.”

Award categories will include student-produced short films and music videos. Entries will come from high school students in Shelby County, Jefferson County and Hoover.
