VANDIVER – A Birmingham police detective was killed in a motorcycle accident in Vandiver April 1.

Odenville resident Steve Head, 54, was riding his Harley motorcycle on Alabama 25 when he was fatally injured in the accident, according to a release from the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

Head was a robbery detective with the Birmingham Police Department.
