Lamon Lee Roy

Alabaster

After a long illness, Lamon Lee Roy, 83, died April 1, 2012 on the same farm in Alabaster (Siluria) where he was born. Lamon is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Eva Russell Roy, and his brother, Robert Russell Roy. He is succeeded in life by his wife of 60 years, Julia Lee Roy; daughter, Carol Roy’ grandsons, Ryan and Andrew Tipton’ granddaughter, Sarah Fafach (Danny); great-grandson, Nicolas Fafach; and his sister, Wanda Russell Roy.

Lamon retired after 30 years of military service, having specialized in aircraft mechanics. A hunter, mechanic, believer of legends and notable curmudgeon, Lamon was always fascinated with the unexplained. He has, we are certain, at last discovered the answers.

Reverend Gary Jones (Siluria Baptist Church) will officiate the graveside service at 11 a.m. on April 3, 2012 at Elliottsville Cemetery, Alabaster. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their respect are encouraged to make a contribution to Siluria Baptist Church, Alabaster.

The family extends our deepest gratitude to Ms. Barbara Sullivan, trusted friend and faithful caregiver for more than three years.
