Falcons finish seventh at Argonaut Invitational

The University of Montevallo men’s golf team finished seventh in team standings April 3 at the University of West Florida Argonaut Invitational tournament in Pensacola, Fla.

The Falcons were led by junior Austin Murphey, who shot a three-round score of 221, which was just 4-over par. Murphey tied for 14th overall in individual standings in the event.

The Falcons finished ahead of the University of New Orleans, while the University of North Alabama won the event.

Junior Andrew Lowry finished with a score of 223, which was just 7-over par. Lowry tied for 20th overall in individual standings.

Freshman Juan Noce shot a 228 and was tied for 35th overall in individual standings. Freshman Andres Morales shot a 232 and finished 42nd overall, while senior Aaron Ebert rounded out the Montevallo squad with a 239, which was good for 45th overall.

Murphey shot the lowest round of the tournament for the Falcons in the third round with a 1-under par 71.

The Falcons will return to action April 9-10 at the Peach Belt Conference Championship tournament in Pine Mountain, Ga.
