Chargers defeat Chambers Academy

The Cornerstone Christian School baseball team defeated Chambers Academy 12-1 in high school baseball action April 3.

Hagan Joiner led the Chargers offensively as he finished 3-for-4 at the plate. Joiner drove in one run and scored two runs in the victory.

Chase Payne, who drove in two runs and scored two runs, went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Auston Wingard, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double.

Austin Davis finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and scored one run. Adrian Young, who drove in one run and scored two runs, went 1-for-3 with a double. Dalton Lodge finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Clayton Halbert, who drove in two runs and scored two runs, went 1-for-2 at the plate.

Tim Warren drove in one run and scored one run in the victory. Sterling Reither also scored one run.

Wingard earned the win on the mound after giving up just one hit with three strikeouts and two walks in three innings.

Young struck out three batters in one inning in relief. Joiner allowed one earned run on two hits with one walk in one inning in relief.
