Jaguars top Mountain Brook in area contest

The Spain Park High School baseball team defeated Mountain Brook 11-1 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 12 contest April 3.

Paul Angel led the Jaguars (20-12 overall, 3-0 in Class 6A, Area 12) offensively as he finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Angel drove in three runs and scored two runs in the victory.

Josh Rich finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and scored one run. Josh Close, who drove in two runs and scored two runs, went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Colton Freeman, who drove in two runs and scored one run, finished 1-for-2 at the plate with a triple. Mikey White, who drove in one run and scored two runs, went 1-for-3 at the plate. Grant Veteto finished 1-for-3 with a double.

Will McDonald went 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in one run. Hunter Hall finished 1-for-3 with a double. Brandon Marley went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and scored two runs. Peyton Walsh scored one run in the victory.

Hall earned the win on the mound after giving up just one earned run on two hits with seven strikeouts and one walk in a complete-game victory.
