Cora F. Kitson, age 92, of Chelesa went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 6, 2012. She was born Jan. 13, 1920 to the late Shelley Cain Sr. and Lola Mae Shirah Cain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Kitson Jr., and her brother, Shelley Cain Jr.

Visitation was at Pelham Church of God at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Celebration service followed at noon. Burial was in Montevallo Cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Mavis Efferson (Rusty) and Patt Burdett (Ed); sons, Virgil Kitson III and Jimmy Kitson (Kathy); sisters, Jennette Young (Dale) and Judy Cain (Sharon Johnson); sister-in-law, Joanne Cain; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and other family members and many friends.
