FROM STAFF REPORTS

United Taekwondo Centers are hosting a Kick-A-Thon event at the Helena Sports Complex on Saturday, April 14 from 2-4 p.m.

The event will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Sean Gilliam of Impact Martial Arts in Pelham says the event will offer free Self-Defense Workshops from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The Kid Safe Workshop topics for youth are Bully Proof and Stranger Danger. Adult Street Smart Self-Defense will demonstrate basic awareness and safety and basic self-defense techniques.

All proceeds from donations and Kick-A-Thon T-shirts will go to St. Jude.

“Several schools will be participating in the Kick-A-Thon. This is a great opportunity for kids who are passionate about Martial Arts to help save lives of children battling cancer or other illnesses.”
