Country music group Lonestar will headline the 10th annual Alabaster CityFest, which will be held June 2 at Alabaster’s Municipal Park.

Lonestar was formed in the mid-1990s, and is famous for chart-topping hits such as “I’m Already There,” “Amazed” and “Mr. Mom.”

Lonestar will take the free event’s main stage at 9 p.m.

“They will bring a lot to the festival, and they are family friendly so everyone can come out and enjoy the event,” said Alabaster Ward 1 Councilwoman Sophie Martin.

Also performing on the main stage will be Vallejo at 6 p.m. and 2Blu and the Lucky Stiffs at 5 p.m. CityFest organizers have not yet announced which band will open for Lonestar.

“The final lineup will be available in the very near future,” Martin said.

Other musical entertainment during the event will include Sanchez Tannehill, Atticus Avenue, Jim Aycock and several others.

The event will also include a KidsFest area sponsored by Vic Smith CPA and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama. KidsFest will feature inflatable games, a healthy food fair and field day games.

CityFest is organized each year by the Alabaster Arts Council, and Regions Bank is the event’s title sponsor.

“We want to make it bigger and better every year,” Martin said. “We hope everyone comes out and celebrates the 10th anniversary of CityFest with us.”
