Warriors top Oak Mountain in area contest

The Thompson High School softball team defeated Oak Mountain 13-3 in high school softball action April 12.

Jordan Swindle led the Warriors offensively as she finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Swindle drove in two runs and scored two runs in the victory.

Ashleigh Short, who drove in one run and scored two runs, finished 2-for-4 at the plate. Sara Beth Watkins, who drove in two runs and scored one run, went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Taylor Powell earned the win in the circle after giving up three runs, including two earned runs, on three hits with three strikeouts and three walks in three innings.

Rachel Rigney allowed just one hit with one strikeout and one walk in two innings in relief.

Caroline Seitz led Oak Mountain offensively as she finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a homer. Seitz drove in two runs and scored one run.

Anne Thomaston took the loss after giving up 13 earned runs on 14 hits with one strikeouts and four walks in a five-inning complete game.
