Virginia Allene (Sally) Edwards, 75, of Harpersville passed away April 14, 2012 at her residence.

Visitation will be held April 17 from 1-2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel. Funeral service will be April 17 at 2 p.m. at the chapel, and burial will be in Harpersville Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Lowe and Rev. William Rayfield officiating.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband, Jimmie Edwards of Harpersville; daughters, Debbie Smith (Brian) of Vincent, Kath Weyburn (Andrew) of Harpersville, Janice Edwards of Harpersville and Judy Edwards of Rowlette, Texas; brother, Gerald Meherg of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Amanda Gibson (Jonathan), Melissa Smith, Kevin Joiner and Kaydra Weyburn; and great-grandchildren, Brennan Gibson and Gracie Phillips.

Pallbearers are Brian Smith, Jonathan Gibson, Kevin Joiner, Andrew Weyburn, Dewayne Edwards, Joseph Debbs and P.J. Edwards.

She was a very loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved the outdoors and cooking (everyone loved to eat at “Mamaw’s Kitchen”) and caring for her family, especially her husband. She was the heart, soul and peacekeeper of the Edwards family. She lost the battle to cancer after 12 years.
