Chelsea

Linda Mae Moran, age 60, a resident of Chelsea, went home to be with her savior Jesus Christ on April 17, 2012. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Liberty Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Tim Cox and Rev. Alan Kuykendall officiating. The cemetery is located on Shelby County 47 in Chelsea. There will be a luncheon served in the fellowship Hall of Liberty Baptist Church across the street from the cemetery.

Mrs. Moran is preceded in death by her mother, Lorene Zoldesy. Mrs. Moran is survived by her loving husband of nearly 20 years, John (Jack) Close Moran; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Moran; father, Ernest Zoldesy; brothers, Gary Zoldesy (Gail) and Alan Zoldesy; and sister, Diane Reichard (Jeff). She is also survived by her stepdaughters of a previous marriage, Heather Abeyta (James) and Lisa Pouncy, and their brother, Pat Pouncy; and best friend, Rosie Johnson (Ron). Jack’s family is comprised of five brothers, three sisters and his mother, Ann D. Moran. His father, John C. Moran, is deceased.

Lin, a graduate of Samford Nursing School, obtained a degree of registered nurse. She worked at various local hospitals for 15 years, spending most of her career at Women’s Surgery at Brookwood Hospital. Lin grew up in North Olmsted, Ohio.

Lin and Jack adopted a special needs girl, Mary, when they were married only four months. Mary was 3 weeks old and had a one-to-two-year life expectancy. Mary will be 20 years old in August, a great tribute to Lin’s skill and extraordinary care for Mary.

Lin was active in Mary’s school, Linda Nolen Learning Center, in Pelham. Most recently as a leader of the newly constructed memorial garden for those 23 students who have passed away in the last 20 years. Lin and Jack had a favorite verse that summed up their love for each other. This verse is engraved in Jack’s wedding ring, “We love, because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19)
