Lions defeat Talladega

The Briarwood Christian School softball team defeated Talladega 11-0 in high school softball action April 19.

Morgan Reed led the Lions offensively as she finished 1-for-2 at the plate with a three-run homer. Reed drove in four runs and scored two runs in the victory.

Ashlyn Boyd, who drove in two runs and scored one run, finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple. Amelia Moore, who drove in one run and scored two runs, went 1-for-2 at the plate.

Natalie Kidd, who drove in one run and scored two runs, finished 1-for-2 at the plate. Rachel Walz, who drove in one run and scored one run, went 1-for-2 at the plate. Madison Chambers finished 1-for-2 at the plate and scored one run.

Reed earned the win in the circle after giving up just one hit with seven strikeouts in three innings.

Linley Splawn didn’t allow a hit or run and recorded three strikeouts and two walks in two innings in relief.
