Mildred “Granny” Holcombe Davis

Mildred “Granny” Holcombe Davis, age 90, of Moore’s Cross Roads, Montevallo, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 18, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Davis; son, Donald E. Davis; parents, J.D. and Mamie Holcombe; brothers, Jack Holcombe (Cora), Roy Holcombe (Nell) and Buddy Holcombe; and also her sisters, Mary Sue Johnson (Lawson), Margaret Barnett and Virginia McDaniel (Gordon).

She is survived by her daughters, Gayle Frohoff and Rhonda Goodwin (James); daughter-in-law, Maxine Davis; brother-in-law, W.J. Barnett; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Moore’s Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ginger Allred and Vitas Innovative Hospice Care of Alabaster for their loving care and support of Granny.
