Vertis Fleming Carlisle, 83, of Vincent passed away at Columbiana Health and Rehabilitation April 21, 2012.

The funeral service was held at Arkwright Baptist Church in Vincent on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, April 23, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel. Mrs. Carlisle laid in state at the church from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.

Mrs. Carlisle is survived by sons, Leonard Carlisle (Regina) of Chelsea and Truman Carlisle (Pam) of Sterrett’ grandchildren, Lori Appling, Amy Sherwin and Bret Carlisle; great-grandchildren, Carlie, Christopher, Zac, William, Wyatt and Jackson; and sisters, Louis Taylor of Talladega and Lillie Caddell of Vincent; and brother, Roland Fleming of Harpersville. She was preceded in death by husband, James Carlisle, and grandson, Bart Carlisle.
