Johnnie Jackson Elam Lightsey, age 85, of Brent entered in rest on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Bibb Medical Center. Funeral service was held April 25, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Brent Baptist Church with burial in Pineland Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to service with Rockco Funeral Home directing. Rev. Alvis Taylor and Rev. Greg Hyche officiated.

She is survived by her husband, Edward H. “Ed” Lightsey of Brent; son, Ross Elam (Lisa) of Brent; step-daughters, Edwina Lightsey of Centreville, Glenda J. Howell (Jimmy) of Alabaster and Jo L. Goggins (Danny) of Alabaster; sister, Marjorie Jackson of Centreville; grandchildren, Brett and Olivia Elam; a host of step grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, Regina, Rita (Earl) and Terri (William).

She preceded in death by her first husband, L.T. Elam, and infant daughter.

Pallbearers were William Mayfield, Earl Mayfield, Brett Elam, Toby Lightsey, Danny Goggins, Jimmy Howell and Craig Jackson. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. John Meigs Jr., Bibb Medical Nursing Home and Hospital staff.
