Bulldogs advance with sweep of Leeds

The Montevallo High School baseball team swept a doubleheader with Leeds in the second round of the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 3A playoffs April 27.

The Bulldogs defeated Leeds 13-6 in the opening game.

Taylor Burr led Montevallo offensively as he finished 3-for-5 at the plate. Burr drove in five runs and scored three runs in the victory.

Chase Hamrick earned the win on the mound.

Montevallo clinched the sweep with a 5-1 win over Leeds in the nightcap.

Hamrick led the Bulldogs offensively as he finished 4-for-4 at the plate with two stolen bases. Hamrick drove in three runs and drove in one run.

Jonathan Pintaro, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a stolen base.

Burr earned the win on the mound.
