Eagles split doubleheader in tournament

The Hope Christian School softball team split a doubleheader April 26 in the Alabama Christian Sports Conference tournament.

The Eagles defeated First Assembly Christian 15-0.

Abby Patton led Hope Christian offensively with three hits. Patton also drove in one run in the victory.

Sarah Birdsong added two hits, including a triple. Amanda Rowley also had a triple in the win.

Glennleigh Boyd and Allie Patton finished with two hits each. Samantha Rowley, Layla Skinner and Claire Bartlett finished with one hit each.

Amanda Rowley led the Eagles as she drove in two runs. Boyd, Skinner and Bartlett drove in two runs each. Birdsong and Lindy Walker drove in one run each.

Walker, who earned the win in the circle, finished with five strikeouts in a three-inning complete-game victory.

Hope Christian fell to Evangel Family Christian 11-10 in its second game.

Abby Patton and Walker led the Eagles with three hits in the victory. Walker finished with two doubles, while Patton added one double.

Samantha Rowley finished with two hits, including a double. Allie Patton recorded two hits. Amanda Rowley, Birdsong and Skinner finished with one hit each.

Walker, who took the loss in the circle, finished with three strikeouts in a complete game.
