ProctorU leaves Pelham, back in Hoover

HOOVER — An online proctoring company is returning to its roots in Hoover after almost a year in Pelham.

ProctorU, which opened in Hoover in 2008, has made the move from a 2,000-square-foot facility in Pelham to a 4,000-square-foot facility in Hoover’s Riverchase Center, according to a company press release.

The company, which monitors students taking exams online with webcams and screen-sharing technology, will bring almost 50 jobs to the Hoover area, with future plans to expand its workforce.

In just more than a year, ProctorU has expanded its workforce in the Hoover and Pelham area from 11 employees to more than 75 employees.
