FROM STAFF REPORTS

The University of Montevallo baseball team’s regular season has been extended one game as the Falcons will host Stillman College in a non-conference contest Friday, May 4 at 5:30 p.m.

The Falcons lost a game due to inclement weather earlier this season, which left Montevallo one game short of its allotted 50 games. Montevallo defeated Stillman College 16-9 in its third game of the season, which was the season opener for Stillman College.

Stillman College recently won its conference tournament and has a long break until its NCAA Division II region tournament.

The Tigers feature a pair of former Calera High School baseball standouts. Trent Posey, a sophomore outfielder, is batting .343 with one homerun and 31 RBIs. Paul Winterbottom, a freshman infielder, is batting .420 with three homeruns and 42 RBIs.

Montevallo will begin preparation for the Peach Belt Conference tournament, which will begin May 9, following the game against Stillman College.
