Vines-Shugrue

Mrs. Kim Cox of McCalla and Pat and Sharon Shugrue of Hoover announce the engagement of their children.

Leah Kim Vines and Dr. J.D. Shugrue will marry on the 26th of May at 545 Chelsea Springs Drive at Douglas Manor in Columbiana at 6 p.m.

Leah is the granddaughter of Wayne Beavers and the late Sydney Faye Beavers and Billy Vines and the late Jack Vines.

J.D. is the grandson of Douglas Rasco and the late Doris Rasco and Polly Shugrue and the late John Shugrue.

The future bride graduated in 2007 from Jeff State and currently is working as a registered nurse at UAB in the neuroscience intensive care unit.

J.D. is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine in 2008. He then did a three-year family medicine residency at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Currently, J.D. is working at Shelby Baptist Health Systems in Calera as a doctor of family medicine.
